Hawaii faces a big microplastic pollution problem, and we want to educate the general public about the issue and have everyone think about ways they can make a difference. In addition, this is a great way to learn about Hawaiian culture and engage with the local community.
We believe clean up are more than just picking up trash. Which is why each of the team member will try to engage and educate about the microplastic problem and solution while you are here. We also want to take the opportunity to educate about Hawaiian culture, which is why we start the day with Oli Hawaiian chanting, and play Ulu Maika throughout the event. We also have free ti-leaf weaving workshops (yes you get to keep it!)
